My Expectations
Be Responsible - I expect all students to be responsible for their behavior, actions, and their own work.
Be Ready - I expect all students to be on time, have all materials, and be ready to learn with a positive attitude.
Be Respectful - I expect all students to be respectful to adults, classmates, and themselves.
HOMEWORK Policy
Students will be given homework on a weekly basis. Most homework will include Spelling, Vocabulary, and Writing practice. I will hand it out on Monday and it should be completed and turned in by Friday of the same week. It is up to your family on how it is to be divided up throughout the week. Some parents prefer to have them get it done on certain nights, others like to spread it out a little each day. I do not hold parents accountable for homework...It is the student's responsibility!
LATE WORK Policy
I will accept late work as long as the student is showing a real effort in trying to get it done. I will accept it until grades are due for progress reports and/or report cards. I will make every effort to remind our student when they have late work and give them opportunities to work on it at school. Occasionally, I may send it home with a note to be completed.
Make-up work
I will follow the district/VES policy for this. I will make every effort to get our student caught up as quick as possible. They can also come to me directly about any make-up work when they get back to school. If your child is out of school for more than 2 days, please email or call the school for your child's make-up work and I will be happy to leave it in the office for you to pick up.
